Something Fishy: Linocut & Monotype

Its behind me…isn’t it and The Sea dragon are the largest pieces of the series so far. Within these pieces I have taken the traditional lino plate and experimented with monotype mark making onto. Within the carving of the lino, I have experimented with different marks and patterns within the bones of the fish. I have been extremely fascinated with trying to create the illusion of water with the aim of catching a swimming ghost. I have also used these prints to experiment with a wide range of hues of predominantly cool colours. Therefore, you will find that there is a variable edition of 5 prints per image.
