These pieces form part of an ongoing series called “A week of emotions” where I explore the days of the week through the lens of different flowers encountered during my travels across South Africa and in my backyard. Each flower is approached from a specific emotional perspective, allowing me the freedom to experiment with various making techniques that resonate with the mood of each day. In this series, some flowers evoke a sense of seriousness, while others embody playfulness. Although the work may appear light-hearted, it holds significant meaning for me, serving as a vital outlet since I began this exploration in 2022. Creating these pieces provides a much-needed escape from the busyness of daily life, offering both a mental and creative respite.
