Sheep i is part of the All animals are equal series. This large-scale monotype prints were a response to the satirical allegorical novel Animal farm written by George Orwell. The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, however, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. Within this piece I dissolved the body of the sheep using a fluffy texture. I have intentionally left the legs of the sheep as a simple line drawing to indicated a state of transformation and flux.
